Orion
Communications has been contracted by the Aventura, Florida Police
Department to deploy its online AgencyWeb Public Safety Solution.
Designed as a comprehensive law enforcement management system,
the Aventura Police Department will use AgencyWeb’s personnel,
shift, applicant and training modules to automate many aspects of their
fast growing personnel requirements.
Aventura has chosen cutting edge technology tools since the beginning
of police operations in 1997, so AgencyWeb is a natural selection. Its
uniquely flexible design captures dynamic data that’s constantly
moving, tracks all personnel activities in real-time and leverages its
data for bottom line reporting.
The new system will include easy-to-use modules that will automate daily
law enforcement processes. For example, individual or group call-to-action
notifications will be used to inform employees or designated groups when
certain events occur … or when routine activities, such as shift
changes, training or overtime requests are scheduled to occur.
Training courses will be automatically coordinated with employee shift,
court and leave dates. And applicant candidate progressions will be tracked
through all stages with the ability to report new hire start dates for
academy classes.
As an added benefit, AgencyWeb will also serve as the focal point
for data sharing across some of Aventura’s different technology
platforms – such as the new Miami-Dade County e-Notify
subpoena system. With AgencyWeb’s ability to synchronize data in
real-time with other systems, the Aventura PD will soon be able to leverage
data stored in AgencyWeb so it’s entered once and used where and
when it is needed.
“We’ve found that law enforcement agencies today typically
require different technologies to manage a multitude of informational
agency needs,” states Orion President Leslie DeLatte. “The
volume of data flow is complex, dynamic and moving continuously in real-time.
AgencyWeb offers unique browser-based solutions that are intrinsically
flexible and maximize existing infrastructures. So agencies can fill gaps
using specific AgencyWeb modules while leveraging their existing technologies.”
Deployment of the Aventura PD’s AgencyWeb system began in March,
2008 and is scheduled for completion by Q3.
