Administrator Property and Evidence Management

Administrator provides comprehensive property and evidence intake, handling, security, and disposal management from the point-of-delivery until items are ordered for disposal. Agency-defined business rules embedded within chain-of-custody activities ensure adherence to regulations and procedures.

With Administrator, all item pick ups, transits, and drop off locations outside the property room are tracked. Property types can have their own data fields, business rules and permission structures. Batch events allow for bulk processing. Log files track all system changes including who, what, when and where. Chain-of-custody logs track authorization information, audit reports, court results, lab details and electronic signatures.

Email and dashboards are used to communicate between investigators, labs, and property room personnel. Investigators receive instant notices regarding the status and location of their items. Electronic requests are logged as tasks for evidence clerks that include status monitoring. On-screen escalations prompt supervisors about past due activities or items needing further processing.

A bar code tool enables streamlined processing of evidence for activities such as check-outs, lab drop-offs, check-ins and audit compliance. The content of bar coded information and tag sizes are determined by each agency. Wireless infrastructures can be established to support hand held PDA or portable computers administration. Handheld devices, bar code printers, and network equipment are used to create the bar code infrastructure.
