Orion's AgencyWeb® Virtual Viewer: Accessing Multi-System Data

Dallas, TX (March 26, 2008) – Orion Communications, a provider of Public Safety software, introduces Virtual Viewer ... the latest addition to Orion’s AgencyWeb® Public Safety suite. With Virtual Viewer users can dynamically retrieve data stored from any number of databases, systems and technology platforms.

Multiple permission levels enable different user-types to view agency data based on their own search criteria. As a result, information from incompatible databases can be accessed when needed from one convenient location.

Initially designed for internal use by law enforcement, Virtual Viewer maximizes information stored in disparate databases from many different agencies throughout specific regions. As a result, significant time is saved collecting data that is used to fill investigation gaps and execute better planning responses.

Results can be viewed through dynamic tabular layouts with detail drill-down links from desktop or mobile units. Alternative viewing includes printable formats, exportable options, and emails to authorized users.

General access can also be provided that makes it easier for citizens to search for public information specific to their own areas of concern. Search filters can be established which ensure that citizen privacy and legal standards are protected. Agencies manage their own shared data by establishing user-type rules and corresponding informational access.

"By sharing information between agencies, the law enforcement community can reduce investigative time and quickly access information -- regardless of the location of that information”, states Orion President Leslie DeLatte. “The ability to access public information engages the citizen in both knowledge and awareness of law enforcement services. Transparency is the goal and Virtual Viewer certainly provides the tool.”
