Dallas, TX (January 10, 2014) – Orion Communications, a public sector workforce management software provider, has received national certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) by the Women’s Business Council Southwest, a regional certifying partner of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council.
WBENC’s national standard of certification implemented by the Southwest Women’s Business Council is a meticulous process including an in-depth review of the business and site inspection. The certification process is designed to confirm the business is at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by a woman or women.
Orion Communications is a chief provider of intelligence workforce management software for the Public Sector. The WBENC certification of Orion Communications as a woman-owned business means the company will now be recognized more prominently among the growing number of software providers with supplier/vendor diversity programs.
“We undertook this important certification to become a resource for public sector agencies and governmental set-asides for women-owned vendor companies,” states Orion Director of Sales and Marketing Jackie Belasky. “This allows us to better serve our public sector customers as well as our vendor-partners by helping them meet their supplier diversity initiatives.”
By including women-owned businesses among their vendors, corporations, and government agencies demonstrate their commitment to fostering diversity and the continued development of their supplier/vendor diversity programs.
